Let me show you some pictures, beginning with a few I took winter of 2008 at the place were I was born, the village of Andersviksberg in the forests of mid west Sweden.

I’ve painted the surroundings of Andersviksberg since I was a young boy.
The old school house. This is where I learned to read and wright.
Andersviksberg used to have a school. When I went to primary, back in the forties, we were about 30 kids in my class! Theese days there are few children living in the area.

Andersviksberg constitute of about 50 houses on two sides of a winding forest road. The village, situated halfway between Malung and Tyngsjö, sits on on the slope of one of the bigger mountains in the area. Higher up on the mountain, at a lake called Upprämen, I have a little cottage.

The stable at my parents place.
In the eighteenth century there was a trevellers in at the place were my parents later lived. The stable in picture above is the only remaning building on the estate from that epoch.
Coastline near my place in the island of Gotland
I married a girl from the island of Gotland. We have a small place outside the town of Klintehamn and I do a lot of work in the surroundings or in the studio. Gotland, being basicly a limestone rock, is very unlike the rest of Sweden. Situated in the middle of the baltic sea it enjoys a milder climat, but trees at the costline is never the less kept low by steady winds from the ocean there by giving the island a some what barren character.

I’m fortunate to have a few good places where I can work undisturbed. My studio in Gotland is one of those.
